Las Vegas... for many people: sex,drugs,alcohol and party. A lot of party.

 

Most of you must think many things of Vegas, I did; but living in Vegas is totally different of what we think. It's even weird ( in a good way). Everything depends on how you live it, with whom you live it with and who you are. Me, a girl with almost seventeen years old, foreign exchange student... The fact of living with an American family, speaking a language that is not even your native one and with an unknown land and people is insane.

American life is totally different to the one in Europe. Fifteen and sixteen year old people driving, going to the American high school, going to the Strip, eating at In-N-Out.  Exploring unknown places, going to the cinemas on Fridays, meeting at football and baseball games..

I have the same routine  as any American teenager may have. Waking up at five, catching the bus .. 

What makes it different is the culture, people and traditions. Okay, first off, living in Vegas is not as crazy as you might think (depends on the place). Just the Strip, which is the downtown,is the craziest place on earth. I was freaking out ..thinking about that here, there would be buildings in every single corner, but actually everyone lives in  neighbourhoods. Depending on the place you wanna go. Las Vegas is not as safe as the place where I live obviously but it's safer than I thought. Anyways there is always danger out there, just remember that. There is even a curfew for people under 18 I think. Laws of the US establishes that you can drive when you are sixteen years old but not drinking till you're 21. Kinda dumb right? 
Anyways at the end you always keep the good memories. But just remember you choose how to live in Las Vegas.. But well what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right?

Cómo es vivir en Las Vegas.

Las Vegas... para muchos sexo, drogas, alcohol y fiesta. Mucha fiesta.

Muchos deberéis pensar muchas cosas de las Vegas, yo lo hice; pero vivir en Vegas es totalmente diferente a lo que pensamos. Es incluso raro (en plan bien). Todo depende de como lo vives, con quien y quien eres. Yo una chica de casi diecisierte años, estudiante de intercambio... El hecho de vivir con una familia americana, hablando un idioma que no es ni siquiera tu idioma nativo y con un territorio y gente desconocida es lo que siempre lo hará interesatne y único. La vida americana es totalmente diferente a la de Europa. Gente con quince o dieciseis años conduciendo, yendo al high school americano, ir al Strip, comer en In-N-Out. Explorar lugares desconocidos, ir al cine los viernes, quedar para ir partidos de f'útbol americano, track, Starbucks and coffee everyday..

Tengo la rutina que otro adolescente americano de 16 años haría. levantarme a las 5, coger el bus, high school...

Vale, primero de todo vivir en Vegas no es tan loco como podreis pensar (depende del lugar). Sólo el Strip, que está en el centro de la ciudad, es el el lugar más loco del planeta. Estaba flipando porque pensé que había edificios en todos sitios pero en realidad todo el mundo vive en urbanizaciones. Claro que depende del lugar en el que quieres ir.   Las Vegas no es igual de seguro que al sitio en el que vivo en España obviamente. Pero es más seguro de lo que pensaba. Bueno siempre hay peligro allí fuera, sólo recuerda eso. Hay incluso un toque de queda para gente que es menor de 18 años creo. Las leyes de EEUUU establece que puedes conducir a los dieciseis años pero no puedes beber hasta los veintiun años. Un poco tonto, no?

 De todas formas, al final siempre te quedas con lo bueno. Pero sólo eres tú cómo elige vivir en Las Vegas... Pero bueno lo que pasa en Las Vegas se queda en Las Vegas, no?
